This body of work represents moments of self-empowerment within women through gestures.  By gathering and studying gestures given to me by women in my life, it allowed me to hone in on body language and how easy it is to adjust that language to the patterns of one’s daily life.   The documentation process allows me to see how those individuals see and carry themselves.  I asked them to show me confidence, security, elegance, and fearlessness. I experienced multiple of the same poses which serves as a collection of evidence, marking the similarities and differences in gesture based on a specific prompted word.  After reviewing the videos, I choreographed the gestures and facial expressions from each woman, using them to create a performance piece.  Piecing these gestures together created something almost awkward and surreal to watch even though the gestures were taken from real women.  Seeing how others portrayed their own self, helped me further realize myself within.
