Slaughter
Slaughter exposes the plight of animal slaughter. I decided to visually communicate how an animal is hung after it has been slaughtered. I created organic, plush shapes out of felt to show the dismembering of limbs and other body parts. Gouache paint was used to give the felt pieces a bruised appearance. The individual felt pieces are strewn on a wire and hung in an alcove to visually imitate an animal carcass.
